Mysterious Case of the Missing Bird Bath

This little report was in our local paper and, well, it made me smile.

    "A woman reported to police at 5:21 am on March 18 that someone had stolen her birth bath, according to the police log.
   When an officer arrived at her residence there was no sign that a bird bath had been in the spot she took him to, and there were no footprints in the snow except for those of the woman and the officer.
   The officer told the woman this, and she said the birds were responsible for taking the bird bath.
   She told the officer the birds loved it so much they must have flown away with it.
    The officer told the woman she should call the department if the bird bath were ever found, according to the log which said there had been no further report."
